“Where is your studio located?”
Sessions take place in my home studio in Kitchener, where I have my equipment as well as a large prop collection.
“When should I book my session?”
Pregnancy – best photographed between 32-36 weeks.
Newborn – A newborn session is best done before baby is 2 weeks old – therefore it is highly recommended that you book your newborn session before baby is born, so that you can ensure availability in my schedule. However, if your baby is less than 2 weeks old, please inquire and I may possibly be able to fit you in!
Older Babies – As soon as he/she starts to sit unassisted!
“Nature doesn’t have a calendar – how can I schedule a date for a newborn session?”
Unless you are having a planned C-section, you can’t really be sure when your baby will arrive, right? When you book a newborn session, a spot is reserved for you on your due date. When the baby arrives, Rachelle asks that she be included on that “important people to call” list – and an official session date will be set up within a week or so.
“How old should my newborn be for the session?”
Newborns should be photographed within 14 days of birth. This is strongly recommended because during the first two weeks of life, babies are content to sleep through anything – allowing Rachelle to pose them in unique ways and with a variety of props. (The photos you see in the portfolio, are of babies less than 14 days old) Also, after the first two weeks, babies start to develop newborn acne, and may also start to be colicky! A typical newborn session will take at about 3 hours, but depends on your baby. He/she is the boss! Some babies will require more feeding breaks and settling back to sleep than others.
“How soon after the session can I see the photos?”
A sneak peek of your session will be posted here within a few days of your session. Your complete gallery of images will be presented in an online gallery, approximately 2-3 weeks after your photoshoot date. Using this website you will be able to download the high resolution images right to your computer! If you would like to order custom design products like birth announcements, keepsake box, or album, we can arrange a meeting to finalize decisions and make design choices!
“How soon will my ordered products be ready for pickup?”
Please allow 3-4 weeks for production.
“What forms of payment do you accept?” Payment can me made by VISA or Mastercard, and also PayPal and Interac Bank Transfer. Please also note that all prices are before HST.
“What is your archive policy?”
Images that have been ordered will be archived for one year. If you have purchased a Digital Portrait CD, the responsibility of archiving the images is yours.
